What is sitemap: As the name suggests it is a map of the website or blog. It will create a complete mapping of your website that contains all your pages and posts mapping in it. The sitemap is of two kinds:

  1. XML sitemap for Search Engine Like Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tool, Yandex Search Engine.
  2. HTML sitemap for the users.

XML sitemap: is for the webmaster or search console. That map your complete website. And in this article, we’ll learn how to submit that map to the search console so that the search engine can show our website results in its search results. Search console collects data from all sitemap it has, and display results according to the user’s search. You can refer to this article for more about sitemap.

How sitemap works: When you write a new page or page, it will automatically be added to the sitemap. And that sitemap ping to search engine that “Hey what are you doing, there is one new page index it”. Then the Search Engine reply back “ok, coming”. Then the search engine crawls your new pages or posts.

Generate XML Sitemap for Blogger Blog:

You don’t need to generate a sitemap from any external source. The sitemap is already present in your blogger blog. But you only have to access that, where that originally is. For that, you’ve to access the sitemap, and the solution is that you can access it by adding sitemap.xml or sitemap-pages.xml at the end of your blog URL. Suppose your blog URL is xyz.blogspot.com then sitemap for the post will be https://xyz.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml and for pages will be https://xyz.blogspot.com/sitemap-pages.xml

You can also check your blog post-sitemap entering robots.txt at the end of your blogger post i.e. https://xyz.blogspot.com/robots.txt.
